Material Quality: Prioritize boards with high transparency and good weather resistance.
Transparency and Gloss: High-quality acrylic is known as "plastic crystal," with a light transmittance of over 92%, a high surface gloss, and no obvious cloudiness or impurities. When inspecting samples, choose products with high transparency, uniform color, and free of bubbles or pinholes.
Weather Resistance and Yellowing Resistance: If the craft is intended for outdoor or direct sunlight exposure (such as garden decorations or outdoor lighting), be sure to select boards with a UV-resistant coating or a yellowing-resistant formula. Prolonged sunlight exposure can cause poor-quality acrylic to yellow or fade, affecting its appearance.
Board Types: Choose cast acrylic or extruded acrylic according to your needs:
Cast Acrylic: Harder, more weather-resistant, and more transparent, suitable for making large, thick, or long-term outdoor crafts such as art pieces, aquariums, and outdoor signs.
Extruded Acrylic: More flexible and easier to process and shape, suitable for making complex shapes, lampshades, display shelves, and other indoor decorative items, although its durability is slightly lower than cast acrylic.
